The math

A real Daytona example.

A pizza shop on Beach Street doing $52,000/month in card volume — 3.55% effective rate, 80% of tickets paid by card.

After moving to dual pricing, processing fees drop to under $30/month (we still pass interchange on the back end). The $1,800 per month they used to lose to fees stays in the business.

Illustrative. Not a guarantee. Your savings depend on volume, mix, average ticket, and chosen program.

Line item Before After
Card volume$52,000$52,000
Effective rate3.55%~0.05%

Total monthly cost$1,847$28
Saved per year $21,828

FAQ

Common questions.

Is dual pricing legal in Florida? +

Yes — when implemented correctly. Florida allows both cash discount and dual pricing programs as long as the pricing is properly disclosed. We handle the disclosure language, signage, and POS setup so your program holds up to a card-brand audit.

Will my customers be upset? +

Most won't notice. Gas stations have done it for decades. The trick is honest signage and a friendly script for staff — both of which we provide. In our experience, less than 1% of customers complain, and most who do still pay by card.

What if I'm on a long-term contract already? +

Send the statement anyway. We've helped clients exit ETF clauses, run a parallel quote, or wait out the term while we get equipment ready. There's almost always a path.

What does it cost me to switch? +

Nothing for the rate review. Equipment is typically free or low-cost on qualifying programs. We'll quote any setup costs in writing before you commit.

Is this just a surcharge with a different name? +

No. Dual pricing posts two prices side-by-side; cash discount lists the card price and discounts cash. Both differ from a "surcharge" in legal definition, disclosure, and card-brand rules. We'll walk you through which model fits your business and state guidance.
